Ashley DeCow - Medical Assisting
Ashley DeCow is an accomplished respiratory therapist with wide-ranging experience working in an emergency room, ICU, and hyperbaric oxygen chambers. Following her graduation with a bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from Weber State University in 2012, Ashley worked for Davis Hospital for over nine years. Ashley spent time working at Davis’ main facility in Layton, as well as their free-standing emergency room in Roy. While at Davis Hospital, Ashley provided life-saving medical care for numerous patients and later became responsible for running the hyperbaric chambers at Davis Hospital’s Hyperbaric and Wound Center. Having experience working in a large hospital setting as well as the smaller wound clinic, Ashley has a unique perspective on the many opportunities found within the healthcare field.
In April 2020, during which time the world was still learning how to combat the global pandemic, Ashley spent time working at a Boston area hospital providing much needed relief to local, overwhelmed respiratory therapists. The pandemic became an unfortunate reminder of the importance of healthcare workers and the growing need for more people to enter the healthcare field.
Ashley has a passion for healthcare and teaching, she is excited to help educate and inspire the next generation of healthcare heroes. Ashley has continued her own education and is currently enrolled in Weber State’s Master of Education program.
