Derrek Bitner - Cyber Security & Web Development

Mr. Bitner is our Computer Science professional and he oversees the Cyber Security, Game Development, Computer Programming, and Mobile Development programs.

He graduated from Weber State with his Bachelors Degree in Computer Science then spent 15 years working in the Tech Industry before "retiring" and becoming a teacher. Some notable projects he has worked on in his professional career include:  Managing the IT infrastructure for a major Utah construction company, helping write the computer code that decides if the air bag in your car should be deployed when you have an accident, and creating the website for the largest Beef Jerky retailer on the East Cost of the United States.

He is looking forward to all of the amazing things students are going to have the opportunity to experience at the Catalyst Center.
