Fun Friday!

As part of their learning about alternative food sources—and writing opinion essays about them—our sixth graders took on a bold challenge this week.

They tried edible worms and crickets.

The verdict?
“They weren’t bad…”

…but the clear class consensus is that they still prefer M&M’s.

Hands-on learning at its finest—fun, brave, and just a little gross.

Thank You Thursday

Our third graders had an incredible Star Camp experience right here at school this week!

A huge thank you to the Douglas Space and Science Foundation for bringing this engaging program to our students. Their staff created a hands-on, high-energy learning experience where students explored Newton’s Laws of Motion and the elements of flight.

To top it off, a “mad scientist” wowed everyone with electrifying static electricity demonstrations—definitely a highlight!

We are grateful for partners who bring science to life and spark curiosity in our students every day.

Thank You Thursday! Today we’re thankful for our students… and for their very enthusiastic contribution to the Lost & Found. Right now it’s overflowing with coats, hoodies, water bottles, and lunch boxes that are patiently waiting to go home. If your child has misplaced something recently, please remind them to check the Lost & Found—or stop by and take a look. Let’s see how many items we can reunite with their owners this week! #ThankYouThursday #BuffaloPointElementary #LostAndFound

America is turning 250 — and our students have something to say.

Davis School District is hosting Voices of a Nation: Student Perspectives on 250 Years of America, a districtwide speaking event aligned with America 250 Utah.

Students from every school and grade level are invited to apply to deliver an original speech about America’s past, present or future.

Selected students will receive mentorship and take the stage on May 4, 2026, at the Davis Instructional Services Center in Layton. The event will be professionally produced and live streamed for the community.

You don’t have to be famous to have something worth saying.

Take the mic. Share your idea. Be part of the story.

Applications due March 18.

This week, we want to thank Ms. Nicholes, our amazing VEX coach. Our students competed last week. Three of our teams qualified for the state tournament on March 14. The Pink Fluffy Unicorns team also won the teamwork championship award.

Thank you, Ms. Nicholes, for teaching cool robotics skills as well as how to work strongly together.
