In this intermediate/advanced Al Engineering course, students dive deep into the rapidly growing world of artificial intelligence through hands on, project-based learning. Using open-source tools and NVIDIA powered local hardware, students will build and customize their own Al agents, experiment with training small language models, and explore how modern machine learning systems are developed in real world environments. Along the way they'll gain experience with ethical Al use, responsible deployment, and problem-solving techniques used by today's industry professionals.
Whether students are interested in programming, data science, or emerging tech careers, this course provides the practical skills and creative challenges needed to begin engineering intelligent systems of their own.

👷🏼♂️👷🏽♀️💪🏽 We had the privilege of having many members of the Utah Masonry Council come out to the Davis Catalyst Center today to teach our Construction Management students how to lay brick and block. Starting with the basics, they learned how to lay a foundation of mortar and build a small wall, and then how to clean it up. A huge thanks to all of these instructors and industry partners who came out and taught two classes today! 🧱 ...oh, and Jeremiah Allen shows off his "perfect wall!" 🏆😉😎

Welcome to second semester at the Davis Catalyst Center! Whether you are new to Catalyst or returning, we are excited to have you with us and to continue providing the best profession-based learning in the state of Utah. Our primary goal is to help students grow academically and professionally while developing the durable, real-world skills that will serve them well into the future.
Below are a few helpful reminders as we begin the semester:
Transportation:
While students are allowed to drive to and park at the Catalyst Center, buses are provided to and from each high school, and we strongly encourage students to take advantage of this free transportation. Our bell schedule is aligned with traditional high schools to ensure students can arrive on time to all of their classes. Bussing information can be found here: https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:US:95548c4a-7d12-44e8-99cf-4fafc47119cc
Dress Code:
As we focus on developing professional skills, we strive to create an environment that closely resembles a workplace. While we do not enforce a strict dress code, we ask that students dress appropriately for their day and, at minimum, do not wear shorts. Each program will review its specific expectations, but these general guidelines help establish consistent professional standards across the center.
Attendance:
As a profession-based learning center, much of our instruction is project-based, making daily participation essential. Please do your best to ensure students attend every day so they can fully engage in these projects. If a student misses multiple days, a Student Success Coordinator or administrator will reach out to the student and family to ensure appropriate support is in place.
Thank you for being part of the Catalyst Center! We’re excited to get started tomorrow! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 801-402-4100.
All the best,
Tim Allen
Director
Davis Catalyst Center

On Friday, December 19, the Davis School District will have an early out for all schools. This means our schedule will look a little different that day. Catalyst will use the following schedule:
1st and 2nd 7:45am – 9:45am
3rd and 4th 10:15am – 11:45am
Buses will run similar to a regular school day and still be there for pick up and drop off at each high school.
Thank you so much for such a great semester! It has been a joy for us to get to know your kids and see the incredible work they are capable of. It has been incredible to watch them and see them grow.
Have an incredible holiday break and very Merry Christmas!
Tim Allen
Director
Davis Catalyst Center

In November our student leadership teams in FCCLA, DECA, and TSA, all collaborated on a Food Drive. Just before Thanksgiving they were able to deliver them to North Davis Junior High with the help of our Construction Management students. Then at NDJH April and Joleigh from the Catalyst were able to help Steve and Kassidy put food kits together, to pair up with a turkey, and handed them out to families who were in need of food assistance this Thanksgiving. 🦃
Grateful for our motivated students and for all the Catalyst students, families, and staff who donated! 🙏💖
