Hello Catalyst Students & Families! We are so excited for the new school year and to have you join us at the Davis Catalyst Center! This is unlike any other learning opportunity in the state, and we are so glad you will be a part of it! We will give you all the information you need about your classes, programs, profession-based learning, etc. when we see you next week, but here are a few things we get asked about the most as school begins: Transportation and Bell Schedule: The Catalyst runs buses to/from each school every day for the AM/PM sessions. They pick up & drop off at your school bus zones. Students can drive, but parking is limited, and riding the bus is highly encouraged. Our web page has last year's bus schedule for an idea of when Catalyst buses depart/arrive at your school. Food: The Catalyst does not have a regular cafeteria, but we do have an amazing full-service café with a varied menu, where students can purchase lunch (card only). If you prefer a school lunch or participate in the free or reduced lunch program, your home high school will provide you with lunch options before or after your class at the Catalyst. Students will need to coordinate that with their school office/lunch staff. Dress Code: Because we are a profession-based learning center and students will be working on real-world projects with real-world clients, we ask that students dress for that environment and dress as though they are going to work. That can mean different things for different programs, but at a minimum, we ask that students not wear shorts, pajama pants, etc., and that they err on the side of professionalism. Dressing for your day in any profession is a great skill to learn and one that we will work on during their time here. Back to School Night: We will be holding two Back to School events next week, on Tuesday, Aug. 18, from 5-7 PM, and Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 12-2 PM.
