Catalyst's Aspiring Educator team had the exciting opportunity to collaborate with their industry partner, Junior Achievement, for a hands-on teaching experience at Meadowbrook Elementary School in Bountiful. Throughout the day, students taught financial literacy lessons to kindergarten through fifth-grade classes, helping younger learners understand the value of money, saving, and smart decision-making.
In addition to teaching, our future educators practiced classroom management strategies, built confidence in their teaching skills, and connected with students through play and supervision during recess. The experience offered valuable insight into the daily life of a teacher and reinforced their passion for education and community service.
Aspiring Educators is a capstone course available to all high school students in Davis School District, who are interested in exploring a career in education, from pre-school to secondary education.
